December 14, 2020

With delivery services, click and collect and contactless payments on the rise due to Covid-19 many businesses have been forced to reconsider the way they ask their customers for payment.

Luckily Pomelo Pay offers plenty of Covid-safe payment solutions for any situation which includes one of our most popular and versatile products, payment links. Here are our 5 reasons why you should start using links for your business...

They help you adapt

There are nearly 6 million SMEs in the UK and adapting to the current environment is crucial for them to survive. With a product like payment links businesses can continue to bring in revenue in a way that is health-conscious, secure and affordable.

They are versatile

From electricians to grocery services Pomelo Pay has a wide variety of businesses that use payment links to charge their customers. One of our merchants, who runs an online business selling Christmas gifts, sends the links to their customers via Facebook while another merchant, with a boiler fitting business, uses the links as a handy alternative to invoicing. Because they are so easy to send or copy and paste our links are suitable for multiple industries.

They are perfect for delivery

Whether you take orders over the phone or via social media payment links offer a convenient way to take payments from your customers. Send links from your mobile phone via the Pomelo Pay app or from our desktop website in just a few clicks.

You can see who’s paid you and who hasn’t

We’ll notify you when a customer has opened your payment link and paid it successfully. For a quick view of who's paid and who hasn't simply head to your transaction dashboard.

You can track your orders

Each link can be sent with a reference of your choice, making it perfect for keeping track of orders.

How do payment links work?

Payment links are a straightforward and simple way to take payments when the customer isn’t present. They work by sending a clickable link via text message, WhatsApp or email which is sent by the merchant and opened by the customer. Once the customer clicks on the link they will be directed to a secure payment page where they can pay the requested sum by either entering their card details or using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

How much does it cost?

Pomelo Pay is free to join. All you pay is a 1.49% fee on all transactions. Sign up now and try out our payment links as well as our full suite of Covid-safe payment products.
